The King Trust

The King Trust was set up in 1986 by Connie King in memory of her late husband, Ken, in grateful appreciation of the care he received from the doctors and staff at the surgery. Having achieved her initial aim of raising the funds necessary to purchase an ECG machine for the surgery, money continued to pour in and she established the Trust. Over the years donations from patients enabled the practice to buy items such as the high backed chairs in the waiting area, a bath hoist and syringe drivers. The Trust was dissolved in 2004 when it made its final donation to KingsCare for adaptations to the minibus. Since that time, KingsCare has been able to purchase another syringe driver, a camera for the nursing staff, a motorised wheelchair and, most recently, a Novacor heart monitor.
